A Brief History…

30 years ago, I learned 1st hand about knee injury and surgery. Doctor’s prediction: Arthritis

20 years ago I discovered Ashtanga Yoga, my physical imbalances, sciatica, and the beginning of the arthritic pain my doctor was talking about. The self healing journey began…Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga was my calling. I have been fortunate to practice with and learn from some of the great teachers in the world. Larry Schultz, Chuck Miller, Maty Ezraty, John Berlinsky, Leah Watkins, Richard Freeman, Mary Taylor, Magnolia Zuniga, Peter Sanson, Sharath Jois, and Roberta Gianatti have all been major influences on what I practice and transmit to my students.

15 years ago my Yoga teaching journey began and two years later Pilates. My Pilates training started with the Ron Fletcher Program of Study led by Pat Guyton in Boulder Colorado. I also have Comprehensive Pilates Equipment Qualification through BASI. Both disciplines of Yoga and Pilates complement each other and have helped me eradicate my own physical pain. I was driven to help others to help themselves with these methods.

10 years ago marked the beginning of my third complementary discipline, A.R.T. , which is soft tissue/bodywork. I apprenticed with 2 of the best body workers in San Francisco while certifying in the patented Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.) developed by Dr. Michael Leahy. A.R.T. is a patented state of the art soft tissue / movement based technique that relieves headaches, back pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and more by treating muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. The sessions are a combination of examination and treatment. I use my hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of the structures of the body requiring treatment. A.R.T. sessions are available at the studio in Kentish Town and home visits are possible, schedule permitting.   I am a Certified Massage Therapist and hold Full Body Certification in A.R.T.

6 years ago to present I moved from San Francisco to London and have worked in some of the finest studios and Physio clinics in the city. In 2016 and 2018 I presented at the UK Pilates Conference. Other recent endeavours include working for 3 seasons with the Brentford Bees Professional English Football (soccer) Club. I’ve introduced numerous students to both Pilates and Yoga through 1:1 training as well as 6 week beginner’s group courses. I continue to do A.R.T. bodywork treatments. My studio sessions are now exclusively in Kentish Town and on-line sessions are available worldwide.
